photo203-1

One thing that makes Alaska so special is that all three species of North American bears flourish here. There is a chance that you may be lucky enough to see a bear

These bears where spotted at a tour with Hallo Bay Wilderness. A company operating from Homer which give you Alaskan wilderness experience and the opportunity to walk amongst the giant brown bears. It really gave us a true wilderness experience and some ferry good memories .

In Denali state park you best chance to see bears lies between mile 20 and 60 of the Park Road, with the Sable Pass area at mile 39 being the sweet spot. Since the Park Road is closed to private vehicles after mile 14, you have to book a ride on the Park Shuttle or a bus tour.

One place to get realy close to some bears is the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center along The Seward Highway
