Visited the Machloop in Wales for some low level action, the weather was not really good so traffic was low. The Mach Loop is a set of valleys, situated between Dolgellau in the north, and Machynlleth in the south from which the Mach Loop gets its name. They are regularly used for low level flight training, with flying as low as 250 feet from the nearest terrain.
Being in the bautifeul landscape of the mountains of Snowdonia it absolute give you the chance to get some fantastic photographs. It’s great and absolutely stunning as they fly through the twists and turns of the loop. Both the Royal Air Force and United States Air Force use the Mach regularly and on occasion other air forces do.
There are several locations in the loop all well documented on several sites. With the weather been a low cloud base and some occasional rain we opted for the Cad East. During the days being there most of the planes that came by where transport and just the one Tornado came true the valley.
